Never How It Should Be, Always As It Is
It's amazing that in the 21st century, when people have access to television, the Internet, and participate in the global economy, where it is very difficult to claim ignorance of the other peoples of the world, we are still waging war and killing each other over religion the same way we did in the dark ages. Before the dark ages, even. All this knowledge, all this awareness of the world and its people as a whole, and we're still waging wars for the same reasons as before, back when people were genuinely ignorant of one another. I've always been a proponent of the idea that hate is bred mostly through ignorance, and that enlightenment would help prevent some of the stupider mistakes of humanity. But there's something in the human spirit that keeps the irrationality going. We must always fight over our beliefs of how the world should be, regardless of how the world is. It's disappointing when knowledge is rendered powerless.
